A delightful pendant of a colourful hot air balloon, handmade in fine silver and coloured with resin. Fine silver is made from recycled silver which has been reclaimed from old mobile phones, radios and photographic equipment. The silver ia ground down into a powder and added to a non toxic binder such as cellulose. This material is better known as silver clay. The clay is worked, dried and then fired. The process of firing sinters the silver powder together burning away the binder leaving fine silver which is a purer form of silver than sterling silver.
The pendant has been taken from an original drawing by Sarah Cain. Dimensions of the pendant are 23mm by 13mm. The pendant is hung on an 18 inch sterling silver chain. Weight including chain is 4.58g. All measurements are approximate. The piece comes in a Beadstorm Designs gift box which is made out of recycled materials.
